Category Selection
Front-end categories are the primary category and sub-categories that customers use to navigate through The ICONICs catalogue of products. It is important when creating products the categories you select will fit within The ICONICs category guidelines so that we can make sure your items have optimised visibility on site.
The criteria for each category on The Iconic are drawn from extensive customer research and feedback and are dictated yearly by the planning and buying teams.
The categories field in Seller Center can be found under Category Selection > Primary Category, Additional Categories and the Recommended Browse Nodes. These fields operate like a category ‘tree’ offering category and sub-category options tailored to your selection.
a) Primary Category and Additional Categories:
When selecting your categories, you can select one ‘Primary Category’ and up to three ‘additional categories’. The categories you select are reviewed in pre-approval so you must select the category that best describes the product. If you are unsure please refer to the relevant page of these guidelines that break down where each product sits.
To select a product navigate to Add Category > Add Primary Category and Add Additional Category.
Here, the system will allow you to perform a quick search i.e search word: tops and will provide you with a number of search results to select from.
Otherwise, there is the option to browse categories and select from a pre-set list of options.
Please note, when the items pass through our system and go live on-site, there is no difference between the ‘primary’ and ‘additional’ categories as they are all treated equally.
Browse Nodes
Browse Nodes exist to allow for product cross-categorisation where some products may fit across two parent categories i.e Home and Accessories. Where appropriate, brands can cross-categorise products into these parent categories up to two times. An example has been provided below.
