Fulfilled by THE ICONIC (FBI) includes a free storage period. After this period ends, Long-Term Storage Fees may apply to inventory that remains in our fulfillment center beyond the agreed threshold.
This article explains:
- When fees apply,
- How they’re calculated,
- When they’re billed, and
- How you can reduce or avoid fees.
When Long-Term Storage Fees apply
Long-Term Storage Fees apply when both of the below are true:
- Your free storage period has ended (based on your Contract Effective Date), and
- Units are aged over 6 months (based on receipt date and aging logic described below).
Free storage period: Vendors receive six (6) months of free storage, calculated from the Contract Effective Date.
Fees, Monthly calculation and billing timing
- Long-Term Storage Fees are charged as per the amount listed on your contract
- Fees are charged per Unique Item ID (UID).
- Calculation date: Last day of each month
- Posting date: 1st day of the following month
Billing frequency: Monthly
How inventory age is calculated (FIFO)
Inventory aging is tracked on a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) basis:
- When units are sold or removed, the quantity is deducted from the oldest on-hand inventory first (regardless of which physical unit was shipped).
This method is used to determine what inventory remains aged and eligible for long-term storage fees.
Where you’ll see the charges
If applicable, Long-Term Storage Fees will appear as a line item in your vendor account statement / itemised billing and supporting reports.
How to reduce or avoid Long-Term Storage Fees
You can help reduce long-term storage exposure by:
- Reviewing inventory age and sell-through regularly
- Avoiding over-supply (where possible)
- Planning replenishment quantities and cadence
- Actioning older stock through promotions/markdowns
Requesting RTS (Return to Seller) where applicable.
